I taught Frosty to knock at my back door when he has to go out, so whatdya know, I yell at him. I keep thinking he's trying to get the magnet off the door, and I tell him no, then I realize he has to go out. And as I started to write this he got out a cat food can from the trash. I have been having real issues with this. I'm anal about cleanliness and he's tearing things out of the trash and making huge messes. How to I stop this. I tell him No and I tell him Off and he won't stop.
That's really sad, I do that too. I growl at Frosty when he's bad. I figure even if he doesn't speak human, I can speak dog. I try picking it up, but it gets annoying tryig to rearrange everything. And I don't think the mice would like a trash can on their cages (J/K!)
Mine has a domed top that swings shut. I think this makes it harder to get into. It is like a mcdonald's trash can but smaller and rounded. Maybe a different trash can. Mine was from Walmart under $10.
I would put the trash can up on the counter. Sounds sad, but a lot of people do it. Or, get one with a dome top that swings shut. Or, you could put the trash can under the sink. How about a trash can with a step on lid? Personally, I growl at dogs when they do something wrong.
i got an oak container that has a swingup lid and i put my plastic wastebasket in there. kind of expensive but worth the peace of mind knowing my dogs can't get in there and i can leave it out in the open.
I finally got around to getting a trash can today. It's one of the ones with the step thing. I figure he'll have a really hard time figuring that kind out. If he does, that's the day that hell has froze over, and I'll let you all know.
