Yes. The mastiff breeders are using this test as well. Long haired (fluffy) mastiffs pop up more than they care to admit. It is considered out of standard, but it would be nice if they did not consider it a fault to the breed. Other breeds have different coat styles (daschunds, collies, ect.)that are excepted. I'm sure there is a reason that some are allowed to have different coats and others are not, but I have no idea what it is. I would consider myself lucky to ever own a fluffy mastiff. They are beautiful.
