Both of my siamese cats have behavior problems,so i was wondering if siamese cats have behavior problems?
Hops-very Shy Ruby-Mean!!(Siamese are supposed to love people!!)
DO ALL SIAMESE ACT LIKE THIS?IF NOT WERE MY CATS RAISED BY BAD BREEDERS? RUBY HAD KITTENS A YEAR AGO AND THEIR ANGELS!! THEIR FREINDLY AND TOUGH BECAUSE THEY WERE RAISED WITH CHILDREN WERE PETTED AND PICKED-UP CONTENTEnSTLY! SO WERE MY CATS RAISED BY BAD BREEDERS?
We had siamese cats when I was younger.. The had kittens.
Twiggy who stayed with us was a doll, never would hurt a fly.
Suki her sister was flown out to my grandparents.. She was a terror, evil kitty, even found her way to the basement and jumped on the repairmans back and attacked him. We all felt that Suki was terrorized by the flight and then she was allowed to be mean and do exactly as she liked.. She would bite my grandpa hard and he would laugh..
My opinion only: Just like our kids and how you bring them up.
I use to breed siamese cats. They are by far my favorite cat! I have a few that I like siamese is one! Mine were very stuck up. They were also very vocal and smart. When someone came in the house and sat in "their" chair I would hear them complaining for days about it. They were very sensitive and did not forget quickly. Esp if you did something to upset them like sit in their chair or not hold them long enough. : ) I loved them very much! They are a great type of cat to have. They do act like the world should revolve around them. They are not always nice to strangers or want to be petted from strangers. They are just that type of cat. That is what I remember anyway. Someday I will get another one.
I have two Siamese mix cats that I adopted from private rescue groups. They told me that these cats would want human company almost constantly, were very intelligent and prone to get into trouble, and that they often lived to be over 20 years old.
This is all true, even to my mixes. If I had only one cat, I think he would be a holy terror, but the two of them keep each other occupied. When they can't get the other cat to play, they torture the dogs. When the dogs are tired of them, they bother me. When I'm tired of them, they go annoy each other, etc. etc.
They tell me when they have no food. Their water must be pristine. Their litter must be clean at all times.
When they need loving, they sit on the computer keyboard, lie down on the book I am trying to read or jump on top of the television and trail their tails down over the screen. Of course I have to stop whatever I am doing to tell them how beautiful they are. They agree with me and then let me get on with my business.
They have me well trained.
However, all the animals in my house know that I am the alpha bitch. They don't bite me or threaten me or give me excessive attitude. I won't have it. If I have to clean up their poop, pay for their food, groom them, take them for walks or to the vet, I expect respect. And I get it.
CatDogMom yea! That is also what I went through. I loved it! I remember now NEVER being able to read a darn book it was impossible! Oh the litterbox I forgot about that boy that had to be perfectly clean!
I have 2 siamese cats and they are wonderful. They are loud talkers at times but just love people. My mom's siamese on the other hand will let you pet her one minute and then turn around and bite you and hiss at you the next minute. Just like other cats, siamese cats all have their own personalities.
My one cat Samie is a siamese mix, at least that's what the shelter said. He is the most loving boy in the entire world, but he is also insane. I'm not saying that jokingly. He's been on anti-depressants several times in his life. He's always into trouble and annoying people, he loves to get on our nerves, and then try to be lovey lol. He has that high pitched meow and does it right in your face. But I love him to pieces:)
z-dawg -- haha... I like that about being conjoined.
My siamese "BooBoo" is a very vocal cat. She is nice to everyone unless they play too rough with her then she get's a little p'd off. She came into this house with 2 older cats (the oldest "Yogi" Himalayan, as since passed). BooBoo was very dominating towards "Smudge" (deaf long-hair), which was really cute to watch cause they were only playing, but Smudge would get sooo p'd off. Then we got "Beau" (my weim) & BooBoo doesn't know what to do, she doesn't bother Smudge any more & now Smudge seems to be dominating Beau.
BooBoo is the sweetest cat... she has a loving personality & loves to be around people all the time.
