i sure hope they do or i definitely would prefer to go where they go ..... seems like that place would be heaven for me. this excerpt from the bible seems to me to convey that maybe they do indeed go to heaven after all it mentions children taking care of them all.....
"Wolves and sheep will live together in peace, and leopards will lie down with young goats, calves and lion cubs will feed together, and little children will take care of them. Cows and bears will eat together, and their calves and cubs will lie down in peace. Lions will eat straw as cattle do . . . The land will be as full of knowledge of the Lord as the seas are full of water." Isaiah 11:6-9
A controversial question is whether it is God's plan for animals to be in heaven or not. Many Christians believe that heaven just would not be heaven without animals. Certainly I believe that the Creator of millions of different species of animals, birds, insects and fish is a God who loves variety and prizes His creation. I cannot believe that Heaven will only be populated by angels and saints. From a careful study of the Bible I have become convinced that Heaven will be richer in vegetation and animal life than the most paradise-like part of earth could ever be. Where people get the idea of harps and clouds from, I don't know. God has a far greater plan than we can imagine.
"This plan, which God will complete when the time is right, is to bring all creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as head." Ephesians 1:10
One major difference in animals and humans is that God instilled a soul in humans. Genesis 1:26-27 tells us that humans were made in the image of God, but animals were not. While animals may possess certain emotions, they do not have a soul.
Thats what I was talking about. No one knows for sure if that means we look like god or smell like god or what it means. It does not say animals dont have a soul it says we were created in the image of god.
Why would god need a soul? He has always been were we are going right? So he wouldnt need a soul to get there.
that was not cool. I dont know if they were kidding or if they didnt belive in god but that is there choice. I was picked on alot growing up (by a 40 year old woman) because my family is jewish we didnt go to temple or what ever we are jewish by blood. Sence jews have never seen there god there god cant be real so we were fools. That bugged me alot because it sounded mean. I didnt know what she was talking about I never learned anything about being jewish.
Its not right to say something bad about someone because they belive something diffrent then you do.
everyone has their own beliefs. it is not our place to judge others. when my time comes to stand before god, i will be held accountable for my actions, and mine alone. all i can do is pray for the non believers , that god has mercy on their souls.
If she was kidding then my last post means nothing. Sorry about that Its a little hard to tell when someone is playing around when your on a computer. You cant see there faces and things can be taken the wrong way
What fabulous answers, I am very touched by your belief, not only in God, but also in your pets being there to greet us on 'the other side.'
Deep down I have always believed in God but have had my moments of not knowing what to think; I also would find it wrong if our pets didn't have a place beside us on the other side; they have shared our life, our ups and downs that it wouldn't seem right that it should all end with their passing...surely a God of love and mercy can see that...
"gain... a soul is? I guess one would have to believe in this "god" to understand? My response is more like... "who?""
Merico, You are right in saying that in order to understand you have to believe in God. Spiritual things can only be discerned if you have the Spirit of God guiding you and opening you eyes to the spiritual world.
Things like souls, spirits, angels, heaven, hell, demons, etc., can only be truly understood if you seek in God for the answers.

To me a spirit or a soul is the package you see, hear and feel. Animals don't think like people, they are innocent and real, they haven't been tarnished with our evil thoughts. So their soul/spirit is different then ours. (less complicated) I don't beleive in an allmighty God or heaven. We are born we live, we die. And the cycle begins again, but not as a re-encarnation (can't even spell it) But a brand new cycle of people. Although I'm not looking forward to old age and death, I will except it as part of life.
I know everyone has their own beliefs, but I couldn't imagine NOT believing in God of some sort and some kind of afterlife. I've lost alot of people I love, one being a very young child, and the only thing that got me through that was knowing he is somewhere where there are no tears or pain and I'll get to know him better one day when we meet again. If I didn't have that belief, I think I'd still be depressed over his loss 4yrs later. And I can tell you for a fact he is with me or watching over me, I've had alot of incidents that have confirmed that for me.
We can't just die and be done with it. Our bodies are made of energy and energy never dies. Whether we go to Heaven or come back again, or whatever, something happens, we don't just die. That is a fact.
---And I think as long as we keep this a peaceful discussion I don't see anything wrong with it. I like to hear other peoples views. It's a nice change from the "I want to breed my doodle" threads.
