Nice guy or not ..you paid him $700.00 and he was supose to safely return the dog to you. He failed his end of the agreement so I think he should pay you for the service not rendered and for the cost of you beloved pooch. (so sorry to hear they lost your baby) Dave will just have to get his money from Carol because she is the one he trusted to complete the hand-over. I hope you dont have to go to small claims court. If Dave was a "REAL" nice guy he would have offered some sort of compensation by now....hes probally holding out for as long as he can so he might can get away with out reinbursing you.
bharathi. maybe you should give it more time before getting another dog. jimmy has not been gone that long and could still be found. what will you do if you get another dog and then jimmy is found. are you willing to keep both dogs ? just a thought.
bharathi, I am so sorry that Jimmy is still missing. What is the weather like in the NY/NJ area? It is pretty chilly for May here in Ohio, a high of only 46 degrees today! Maybe the weather will keep him from going too far away from you. I understand why you cry at night thinking of him...he kept you company and is a part of your family while your wife is away. Don't give up hope yet, but good for you for asking Dave for compensation in case Jimmy isn't found. You're in my thoughts.
That is so sad. I hope they didn't sell him to someone else. I've heard alot about places like that doing those types of things and then calling it an "accident". I hope you do find out what happend. All the best wishes to you!
I think you are owed not only the $700 you paid for boarding the dog, but also the value of the dog, and your expenses looking for him. He lost your dog, your best friend, you have no reason to be nice to him about this...I would demand more like $1500.
I'm confused......you are talking about money..like it has come down to money...is anyone still looking for the dog? My cat was gone for a week every morning out looking every nite out looking....took a week of alot of no sleep, but we found him. Sounds like it is coming down to a money issue.
Of course the main concern is the dog but you cant tell me $$ wont be an issue sooner or later. If not then you must be better off than the normal everyday working class citizen. The only way I would have let the $$$ issue slide by is if it was just an verble agreement between friends. But business is business and dog or grand piano if he lost it then it needs to be compensated. I'm sure they still looking for the dog so its hasnt come down to a strickly money thing.
This is just got to be the saddest thing. I would be beside myself and I know you are too. You remember the whippet that was missing, as far as I know they never found her. Sometimes I think these dogs are not running loose at all but somebody has latched on to them. Its getting pretty bad when you can't even put them in a kennel and feel safe. I am so sorry and there is still hope yet.
i totally agree sandysbabies. that whippet was a prize show dog and all over the news, yet nobody knows nothing. seems weird to me. i would be more inclined to believe that someone has jimmy in their possession. which would be very wrong to keep him , knowing that people are looking. hopefully they find him soon. getting your money back doesnt even compare to having your beloved pet back, but at least it is something. for me no amount of money would ever replace any of my babies.
He said I signed the contract and it says if the dog run away they are not responsible
I had a good arguent with him
and He said There is a possiblity Jimmy could be found every one is looking for him email from him
I just spoke to you on the phone and have read your e-mail. As we discused we would be more than willing to pay the reward of $500.00 for Jimmy. If Jimmy is not returned to you in 90 days we will give that money to you(@July 10th)....that seems fair to me...let me know what you think.
I also hire a pet detectie who is helping me ( paying $150)
I am also putting this in local newspapers in the area
