I've always heard of rumors that it happens. In other countries I know they eat dogs, but here in the US I"m sure it might happen in certain communities. But I doubt/hope it doesn't happen on a wide scale.......
Its true.. China has been eating dog for centuries. What really bothers me about this is that its the way they kill the animals... Its a slow horrific death by boiling alive.
About 7 years a go there was a guy here in my city that was arrested for eating his dog.. he was from China. The neighbors knew the guy had a dog (had seen it in the backyard) and one day the dog was gone.. They asked him what happened to his dog, he boldly told them, he ate the dog. Well, you can guess what happened next... the police were called and the guy was arrested. No info was given on the report as to how he killed the dog but he got a slap on the hand which btw is typical for animal abuse. If it was SWWesties law, ;) I would've boiled him alive and dumped him out on the road for the buzzards.
Please do not post the link to the pictures... Its incredibly disturbing. :*(

Well, to be honest, at first I thougth the email was a joke since everyone know how I love to eat Chinese food. But as you go through the pictures, there is no way this is a joke. These are real people and real dogs, and a detailed look at how and what they do to the dogs. I can't believe it has been allowed to go on.
SWWesties...I'm talking about eating dogs. Literaly taking a living breathing dog tied up by a rope/chain out back of a resaurant and dragging it in and doing whatever to prepare it to be cooked.
I don't think there is anything American's can do about it though, and hopefully the FDA and other laws keep them from doing this here in the US. However, you see how hard it is to enforce laws/rules on people regarding animal care....and I doubt they're watching them with a microscope. :(

Why is it allowed in China and other places? Do those countries not have animal rights?
I've never been there and am not to familiar with there customs, but being around the military, many people that I've asked about this said it's a delicasse (sorry don't know how to spell it) in Korea, China, and some other countries.
No, it doesnt make them wrong, but it is wrong how the animals are treated, both here and there. Dogs should not be stuffed in small cages with dozens of other dogs. They shouldnt be hung upside and have their main arteries cut. And neither should cows, chickens, or pigs.
I don't know if I agree....there's just something about killing and cutting up something that sleeps with you in your bed at night and you walk down the street on a leash. A little different than cows and chickens in my opinion.
