Which is the most docile, gentle and least likely to be aggresive or bite - the French bulldog, English bulldog, oldebulldog or the mix breed American Bullnese? We have shortlisted the above but the mentioned points will be major consideration as there are small kids as well as old people at home. . Any help with this will be very much appreciataed. Thanks.
I'd probably go with french bulldog and english bulldog mostly because I'm not even sure exactly what an american bullnese is and I haven't personally met many nice american bulldogs. I'm sure there's a lot out there but where I live many are raised for fighting purposes :P
Anyway the french bulldog probably would do best with small children just because they seem more spunky and eager to play than english bulldogs, which mostly like to eat, pass gas and sleep ;)
I had done some research on the American Bulldog in the past. I was considering this breed. But it seems there is a lot to look at. Like the Johnson or Scott type. It confused me, so I gave up. I think the Frenchies look to be an awesome breed. Good luck on your search.
Personally, I would talk with many breeders of all breeds and see who has the temperament and type of dogs you are seeking. Being bullbreeds, they all can be very active and tenacious at times. But, most all bullbreeds are excellent with children when brought up together. Just research health issues and find a breeder who health tests and guarantees thier dogs for at least 2 years.
i would say frenchies, because i have three of them. never had a breed like this before and am totally hooked. they are refered to as "little clowns", and after living with them, i can see how they got the title. they are playful and extreme lovers. when my grandsons come to visit, they run through the house non-stop. then when they all tire out, they will all curl up together in front of the tv. not a mean bone in these little cuddle butts. they love all.
