well I was asking my daddy and he said that they both might have been in on the hole 9/11. and well we might not have osama yet but we will and when we do then he will be trialed and he well be brought to justuce.
"Second, why would any Americans give a crap if Sadam dies? HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO OUR COUNTRY."
alicat1, well try telling that to the thousands of familys that will never see there family members again. you probably was never effected by the 9/11 but my family was I never knew the family member but my grandma and grandpa did.

No offense, but I don't really care what your daddy says. It has never ever ever ever been proven that Sadam had a connection to 9/11. That is a fact. That is why I say that Sadam had nothing to do with 9/11.
Even if you had a family member die in 9/11-- it has nothing to do with Sadam. It is sad that any one believes that with out proof.
I don't know!!! my dad is a very smart guy and I love him and believe in some of the things that he says. but even I kinda dout (sp?) him on this one but then again why are we getting sadam if he hasn't done anything to this country?

"We are so much happier to get revenge than to do what is smart
Saddam had no power alive and in jail, but he sure can create an uproar being a martyr "
and I soo agree with that....Gunny you summed this up better than I did.
I also agree with Superwoman who doesnt believe in putting anyone to death.....I dont either....I believe that justice will be served by God and it is not for us to decide.
There are a whole lotta other dictators over there who are just as ruthless and bad to their people as Saddam was....
He has body doubles and I dont believe that this was really him....
Also WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Alicat!! Saddam had nothing to do with 911.
I *DO* fear that my son leaves for Kuwait next month, on 2-5 and what repercussions we will face for this. The timing of this whole thing sucks( for me....egotistical....I know)
Before anyone has any opinion on it being "safer" in Kuwait, I will quell that myth right now.
1. My son is in mobile construction which means convoys and Kuwait is right next door to Iraq....convoys deploy there all the time. I do not take comfort in "safe in Kuwait" comments.....My kid still gets hazardous duty pay over there, so it aint safe.
2. One never knows WHERE their loved ones are in deployments.....they are not allowed to tell you their locations....for the mission safety.
This is the last pic I got of him, on his way home to Gulfport last week....Everyone I show this too said he looks so happy and he does....I noticed it too.....(he's in the shades)
But I am scared beyond belief to let him go next month. Scared to watch the news, scared to hear the doorbell ring....I know it gets better over time, I have friends who have sons over there, but it is very difficult at first....
yeah, maybe they shouldnt have hung the tyrant. keeping him in jail while the taxpayers foot the bill is a better option. hopefully, like the infamous serial killer, ted bundy, he wouldnt escape to murder a few more. my nephew is stationed in al asad. he is a casualty liason. he sees first hand, what we here, only hear about through the media. his sympathy lies with the fallen soldiers and their families and not with a sadistic, cold blooded killer.
I don't understand what would make a person soooo cold blooded enought not to have any remorse for taking a human beens(SP?) life. it just makes me sick knowing that there are soooo many people that are just like him with too much power and too much time on his hands.
Well, our country and his were strange bedfellows for a time...a time before the Iran Contra affair....
The world is well aware that Saddam Hussain, one of the worst dictators of our time, has been a buddy of USA, when USA helped and used Iraq in the war against Iran...
Saddam and his regime were no different at that time, except one factor: that is, the US at that time needed to use the Bathist dictator of Iraq....
Now, the consideration has changed, and America has made an example out of the removal of him and his repressive regime. The message? a similar fate may await other tyrants if they don't tow the line of the greater powers. Of course, the role of superpowers has nothing to do with tyranny!
As cold blooded as you all percieve him to be, our country looked the other way when we supported him...so how much better are we!?!?!
TraumaMamma-- I hope that your son stays safe. I wouldn't ever want to be in your shoes. Hang in there.
One of my best friends in the world and my biggest mentor with the dogs, has a 24 year old son that just left his wife and 10 month old son on CHRISTMAS EVE to go to Iraq.
It is heartwrenching, I worry about him, not just for him, but his young family and parents. I think it nearly destroys and does destroy some families completely if a son/father/husband is killed in the war.
If something happens to my friend's son though, I am not going to blame Saddam-- who did not ask our country to remove him from power and invade his country. I would be more likely to blame Bush for sending our troops in harms way with out good reason.
I would personally love to see the Bush twins on the FRONT LINES along with the children of all of the senators and congressmen. Maybe then they would have thought twice about this war-- if they had as much to lose as the other military families.
wow strong words!! I feel badly for the people that go to iraq. but what I don't understand is why they would sign up for being in the army if they new that there was going to be a war. they new that they might possably be hurt and even possibly die out there. (I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm not trying to be mean of havin any disrespect for anyone )
I just saw the video of the execution on tv. I expected it to be stopped right before he dropped like they did on cnn, but to my surprise they showed the whole thing. I definitely did not need to see that. Donít get me wrong. I believe it had to be done. I just did not need to see it.
I was on the fence about the death penalty until my mother was beaten to death in her home by a homeless crack head looking for some quick cash. I now truly believe that some people have no business being alive and need to depart this world. As heartless as it may seem, if you murder someone, you automatically forfeit your right to live.
I am not a violent person and I do not like to see people suffer, but I would like nothing more then to stare in to my motherís killer eyes while I put a bullet in his stomach so he can have a slow painful death. Unfortunately, if he does get the death penalty, and that is a big if, all I will get is to see him humanely and painlessly die in a room behind a glass wall in about 10 years. That really sucks. Not much satisfaction in that. I want him dead. I want it now. And I want to personally do it in the slowest most painful way.
