<<Get a clue, and a grip. Your posts from here on out are just pointless. You've proved your ignorance more than enough for most members here. Though you might not care, you should, because you're making yourself look just as irresponsible.>> HuskyHauler, with buy-in from Bassett and Rhonda
Okay, you might think there was no point being made above, so I could save myself some fingertip wear and stop trying to take direct questions seriously and stop bothering to address them respectfully. Except for the "Bite me" part, of course. Sorry about that.
The POINT I was trying to make, without saying anyone was a snob for believing what they do, is that there's a huge honking gap in perception between high-end breeders and nearly all buyers. In no commercial enterprise does that work out well for the producer. And I realize that a breeder like Wandering_Spirit is not a commercial breeder and isn't in it for money. Don't know about Husky's enterprise, whether you're making a living from it or not, but I'm sure you run it caring and clean. But won't most of the pets in most of the homes always be produced by people who are running a business? Put them out of business and they'll go underground or start smuggling them in from other countries. It's not that I don't think about it or care. I just don't have a clue how to steer people away from crumbum breeders. I've said before, a theatrical-release documentary might shine the big light on it that can sometimes make a difference. But for what we do here, I've always thought that good ideas come eventually from the process of debate and discussion and brainstorming. Even if some of you think I'm brainless. You never know where the big idea will come from.

QUOTE "But do you see it ever not being true that most of the pets in most of the homes are produced by people who are running a business? Put them out of business and they'll go underground or start smuggling them in from other countries. It's not that I don't think about it or care. I just don't have a proposal to offer that would have a prayer of effecting a genuine change for the better for the dogs involved." End Quote by Joan EK
I really don't know why I am even bothering to respond as it is still so pointless & futile. Despite you're now trying to be more adult about your last post.
Breeding to make money off the backs of pimping livestock dogs is dirty money & should never be a job! What? Smuggling puppies from other countries happens to be very popular with the brokers & has been for quite some time....do you not watch the news or read the paper?
Lots of mills are having "Going out of business " auctions lately. Getting rid of everything that isn't nailed down & then some. It is because people are started to get educated more than ever about mills, & BYB's. The more people learn about them the sooner they will be forced to fold. Sorry no tears here from me for them! Just for the animals.
Any one selling dogs as a business needs to get a real job like those that care about thier dogs. Spend some money on them for a change & pamper them not breed them for poor quality pets. The pounds & shelters are loded with all the "designer mixes" that ya'll are guilty of churning out.
I don't oppose your trying, and I truly regret if my words make me sound cynical or uncaring. It's just that unless we go totalitarian in this country, it's hard for me to imagine anything bringing about your vision of how it should be.
i think i kind of understand what you are trying to say. there is no immediate fix to this problem. my ideas on how to start to fix the problem would be met with disgust and i can't say i would disagree with the arguments against my ideas either, because laws and fines and such hurt the good people who care aas well as those the laws or fines should be hurting.
so the only way i can see a fix to it all, is to continue educating people. granted by the time they make it here, most have already made the mistake and see these arguments as personal attacks. but if they can see past the written word and read the truth behind what is being said, while it may be too late for them, it may help the next person who is reading, or someone else the message is passed on to.

Thanks, Scout, I appreciate that. I just spent nearly an hour in traffic riding home from work, and actually did have an idea. I'll write it up and start another thread. From the reactions I'm getting, I'm coming across as a real pain who only types to hear the keyboard clatter. Either that, or it's just way too much fun to savage one another like she-wolves. Anyway, if you do read it (maybe not till tomorrow) and care to chime in, I won't bite any of you for barking it down, or even for ganging up on me.
