thank you pyrmom.... when i look on some threads i wonder how these people can be so rude and bash a newbie that is just asking a question. it seems to be the same people that thinks their s**t doesn't stink and is the perfect dog owner. i bet when they were a newbie they had the same questions and problems. i hope they got bashed when they asked questions!!!! if everybody would just play nice this could be a very good forum.
Very Well Said PRYMOM! I am a breeder and am often to afraid of bashing to ask anything! I once said that my vet laughed at how healthy and large my puppies were and the first post back was a nasty jab about my puppies getting pano! It was ridiculous! But I am glad you so eloquently said what I have so often thought.
Thank you very much pyrmom and everyone else who stood up for me. I must admit it has put me off asking any questions on this forum when last night they trashed me and put me down (in american terms hope that doesn't mean putting something to sleep).
However after reading your contribution today it has restored my faith a bit.
Ya know what - I apologize... it was totally not like me to call you a troll... I was in rare form yesterday and took it out on someone that I didn't know. Welcome to TP and I hope that everything goes well with your dog.
As a longtime online gamer, I've had the pleasure of playing and talking with (via online communication programs) people from all over the world, and there's one thing I can tell you, everyone has their own way of saying things, and I guess in written form, some of these "foreign" phrases can be easily misinterpreted- especially when you're geared to look for a good reason to pounce on someone, like a lot of people tend to be on these forums.
I guess it's really hard to remember when you're in "that moment" that when you're online, you're dealing with folks from all over the world, with all sorts of different phrases, hehe.
I really appreciate a moderator stepping up and saying something. Hopefully it makes a difference.
This forum is a great opportunity for people to teach others, but more often than not, those who have the most to share are often the ones that are responsible for chasing away those who have the most to learn, and it's really such a waste of a good opportunity to not only educate, but to bond with other pet lovers.
I've always said that it's not often WHAT you say, but HOW you say it that makes a difference, and it just seems that sometimes people here are so passionate about how they feel that they don't realize that they come across as total jerks.
I like these forums because of the people, and for the potential these boards carry to help pet owners. I think that, if people just think a bit before they type, that the potential could really come through.

i've done my share of new person bashing in the past, and have to say thanks pyr for the post! it is getting old to read the accusatory posts. things need to take a different path. i still think people need to hear the ins and outs of breeding and somehow the education has to come in about overpopulation and testing and all, but, there's ways to do it, or this forum may die a slow death.
I like what you said Pyrmom " Don't be afraid to ask your questions. There are no stupid questions. We are ALL ignorant when first exposed to something new and/or different. Even the self proclaimed experts"
I learnt so much from TP forum .

many people have come on here with the sole purpose of causing trouble, as happens on all internet forums. so, people can be quick to think someone is a troll when they are not. don't think you are a troll, by the way.
atlas - I thought you were someone coming on to get everyone all excited and angry. You used much of the same verbage used in many of the posts on here... and I jumped to conclusions. I am usually not one to call people trolls, I am also not usually one to try to hurt someones feelings... I took my bad mood out on you - sorry.
So - do you have pictures of your dog that you can post? I would love to see her!
Sonja & LPN, nope, I wasn't trying to point a finger at either of you or anyone else in particular. You're also right that this thread had not quite hit the "let's bash the newbie" quite yet, but I could actually feel it headed that way. I just figure, New Year..let's try to at least start out with a good vibe to the forum.
I also agree, as I said earlier, that it really IS important to share information and knowledge, but if we chase folks off before we get the chance, how much educating are we doing?
Yes, we've ALL (including myself, just can't resist a good troll baiting every now and then~sigh) been guilty of going on the attack when what we really should have been trying to work a bit harder to educate.
We all have bad days. We all says things we might later regret, but it's the CONTINUAL attacks that wear on the nerves.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to catch the boo boo. I saw it as soon as I posted and thought "oops" but was too lazy to edit. Glad to have given you a laugh Dusty and to PYRMOM, sorry for the extra letter.
Very Well Said PRYMOM! And I think alot have been thinking what you said once or twice I was bashed when I was new but I'm stubbern soo I stayed, Thing is people don't know hoe to act on TP and what questions to ask we are a tight community and that does take some "knowing" how ti say or write to not be bashed.
To the OP The dogs are in heat about 3 weaks on the 12-14th day is when they are probabale to be inpregnated. Meat with the male a few days before to let he dogs become aqainted and to release abit of the stress before things happen and just relax nature will take over. When the male is "inside" the female you might have to hold your dog while they "hang" thats when the male swells up after he's done so that they don't try to get off eachother before he's finished and has swelled down, hold them back to back Buy any dog book and it will explain what I just wrote.
