respectfully they should not be overlooked..but in the society we live in they are..alot of people are not equipt to pay thousands and thousands of dollars on a designer dog and that is why they end up in shelters...they are not prepared for what they may have to deal with...I am not knocking how you feel..point taken...I have just purchased a purebreed..and her health is known or what I should expect...when you purchase a byb pup you have no clue because of the fact the mom or pop has not been tested...and then you end up with a pup that may needs alot of care and plain and simple some people can not afford that..and that is why alot of them are really overlooked..the care and quality is not there in what we refer to as a designer dog or mutt...that is why alot of them are in the shelters...and to be technical...alot of the shelters give you a hard way to go because they do not want these dogs back on the streets, and I really think that is the bottom line here. The awareness some byb are not willing to communicate after a purchase...but a breeder will offer lifetime communication as long as the pup is alive...you are not able to care for the pup a breeder will sign a contract for you to contact them to have the puppy returned back to them and byb will not...so it makes a big difference and again that is why alot of the designer dogs are overlooked.
I pledge to be a responsible dog owner...I Pledge to take care of my baby for the rest of her life...
Ok, the other day on a different thread we were accused of not directly answering the question asked. So here goes. Yes you can breed an ACA dog with an AKC dog. YOu can pretty much breed any male and female within the canine species. Sometime's size can cause a problem. But many of you saw the picture I posted of the Jack Russell Terrier trying to breed with a Rottie. Now that said, the poster needs to ask themselves or other potential breeders. Yes, I can breed this male and female together, but should I? I think the real question you want the answer to is can they be registered? Not with the AKC, but I do believe the other registry will register ANYTHING IF YOU SEND MONEY. Heck you don't even have to have a certified traceable pedigree. Just make one up they don't care as long as the check clears the bank.

Just because you have a dog aca registered does not mean that all breeders are bad. I love these one sided people!!!!! ALL of my dogs are ACA registered. They are wonderful pets and I WILL be breeding my one female. AKC just means you think you can charge upwards of $2000.00 for a pet. REDICULOUS!!!
