I don't trust that site. IMO She still has Diamond foods on the recall list even after yesterdays debacle. I haven't found anything about it on the FDA website or any of the others. I can't find where she is getting her information from. Sorry to say but people have dollar signs in their eyes and are going to try to make a few bucks off this recall.
Iams dry foods is not even made at the same plant. Neither is Nutro dry foods. Both products are made in different parts of the country. People are blowing this way out of proportion. They need to get their facts straight before they go around scaring the holy crap out of everyone.
Ok so I need to ask but it has ol roy listed but it didnt list the exact specific name of the dog food we use and I was just wondering if I should discontinue to use it anyway, and if so what kind should I get that wont potentially harm our pets?

The contaminated wheat looks like it has made it into the human food supply. It isn't necessarily just menu anymore with an issue. Now companies would have to admit they used that wheat supplier.. But thanks for being as cranky as possible.
Sorry mafiaprincess.. I wasn't talking about you. I am talking more about the people that are seeing dollar signs and looking for a way to make money off this recall. It's just frustrating enough without them putting their two cents in when it never applied to the product they were feeding. I have been reading and reading until my eyes have bugged out. :) I feel for the people that have really been effected by this but some of the stories I've been reading are way out there. So if I came off a little cross to you... I truly am sorry I wasnít directing it at you. Please forgive??? :(

where have you seen that it has made it into the human food market ?
i think any food that contains wheat would potentially have the same problem if they have gotten their wheat supply from china. that includes dry dog food, human food, whatever. if they got their wheat from china than the possibility of what it went into also being affected is high.
Ol'Roy is disgusting food to begin with . regardless of it being on the recall list. please dont feed your dog that garbage. stay away from anything sold in supermarkets. go to a pet store and look at food. try and find a food that does not contain soy, wheat, or is made up of mostly grains. stay away from anything that is not identified, like poultry or meat ..... look for specifics like chicken, turkey or beef. stay away from by products also.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
Sorry Serene.. I felt bad after I posted the first links.. Cause then I went looking for back up sources and felt a little stupid.. No worries. I don't feed low end food, and it all upsets me, I think we are all a little short. I apologize too.
Scout, Global news at 6pm tonight.. They aren't saying enough about it yet, but they mentioned it looks like it is gone further than dog food, but they don't want to start panic until they can get proof. So 3 months like the dog food and we will have answers?
I am going to be switching back to Premium Edge food. It contains no wheat, no corn or no soy. They have a notice that their food is not effected by the recall. I only switch from the food a year and a half ago, because my dog wanted to eat what the other show dogs in the kennel were eating. But now we are back home, and I get to decide, not him. I too heard on the ABC World news that there is speculation that this contaminated wheat is in the human food supply.

This whole recall thing is making me sick to my stomach...i was just praying that it would stay in the wet food and not go to dry, but now we have 120+ of the dogs in the rescue that eat dry Iams or Nutro. We already lost one to the canned food and I really don't think any of us can take it if we lose more because of what we were feeding them. I keep hearing different things..Nutro recalled, Nutro not recalled, Iams recalled, Iams not recalled...every site you go to has something different to say about it. This whole situation is just stupid...it should NEVER have happened to begin with and now it is coming at the cost of the lives of pets.
Here is my vent of the day...We talked to an attorney about the dog we lost to the recalled food (had the can, receipt, and everything)...but we will only be reimbursed the vet fee as the dog had no home and therefore no value...Please don't get me wrong, it is not about the money, but more the principle of saying that because Geico didn't have a home he was worthless...he was a fabulous dog and he will miss out on a loving home that he deserved so much and some family will miss out on a great dog...
what I wouldn't give for 10 minutes with whosever fault this is...

Iím just going to throw this out there and hope I donít have black helicopters hovering over my home. :) Wasnít it China that just rounded up all their dogs and cats to have them destroyed because of the rabies out break? MaybeÖjust maybe they sprayed the wheat crop that was to be used for their pet food in order to kill the pets that werenít turned in for euthanizing. Somehow a portion of that crop was shipped to the US. Or maybe they just hate us and wanted to hurt us by hurting our animals. Who knows, but I love conspiracy theories.
