Webster defines "breed" in the following way-

Breed
Function: noun
1 : a group of usually domesticated animals or plants presumably related by descent from common ancestors and visibly similar in most characters
2 : a number of persons of the same stock

So yes, it is an actual breed but I doubt that was what you were implying.

Maybe you can find a picture to better express yourself like the other ladies.

Goodness, I asked a fairly simple question, because I was curious. Apparently I should have asked the more indepth question. Is the Miniature Austrailian Shepherd an American Kennel Club recognized breed? Will that make it easier for someone to answer in a civilized manner? Still want to play??

I apologize with all my heart if you were asking a sincere question. AKC currently isn't recognizing a miniature version of the Aussie however they don't say they never will. There are guidlines for obtaining recognition.

Currently there exist other clubs for the purpose of documenting the existance of the size variation in order to meet the requirements set forth by AKC for recognition.

Would that be the Austrailian Shepherd breed club? Sorry the actual name escapes me at the moment. My husband would love to have an Aussie. He had one years ago, but as my screen name implies, I have Sibes.

I find it rather amusing Blue that ALL the pups you have for sale have a pet price AND a BREEDING price. Every reputable breeder I have come across waits until at least 10 weeks to decide if a pup is "show" (or breeding) quality before deeming them "breeding" worthy and selling them as such. What is your criteria? As long as someone pays you more money the puppy is therefore breeding quality? How is that bettering the "breed"?

Actually Corgi my advertised price difference for breed vs pet is a method that allows my to be alerted to the intentions of the buyer. If you read my ad you will see I clearly state breeding rights are at my descretion.

Basically it exist to establish a dialogue and nothing else.

You'd be amazed at how many possible breeders I've been alerted to simply by posting 2 prices.

Pwrcorgi, in my breed there are certain features, coloring, top line,conformation,jaws, heads, bites, tail set, ear set, ear size, eyes, temperment,size, and probably more than can think of in my befuddled state that automatically rule out show/breeding quality.
This is visible at a very early age, and though some things can change, others will definitely not; so that is my reason for selling at a different price. (One of them)

Pen you are correct, but there is a difference. BlueDiky took a statment I said apart to make it fit what he wanted. That my friend crosses all lines with me. :)

a question with lots of sarcasm, let's not play it wasnt there.. doesnt matter anyway, really it's cool. I worded it wrong, my bad, there were many of us getting all the pms. not just me and we were all saying the same thing, i just posted and said me instead of "us".. my poor choice of words.

Anyway... with respect to diff prices, I have actually opened the door to conversation by feeling someone out with different prices though I do place my pups at the same. Many reasons for doing that, Pen2 hit some, in my breed there are more. I know within my breed there are show people that will sell pups at different prices,not sure there is a right or wrong on this, only what feels right to the person. I'm much more concerned with proper testing, breed standard, betterment of the breed, the same things we all agree upon rather then the price.
