I have Great Danes and 2 English Bulldogs. I feed my bulldogs Canadae and my Danes Nutro Natural Balance. I don't have alot of problems myself. My friend has a Dane in the house and he feeds the same food as I do and he said she is leaving hairs all over the house. Thanks, Donna
Have you tried a furminator. Many people swear by it for stripping fur. And I know that I love mine. I've used it on dogs that shed all year long, ones that blow their coat 2-3 times each year, rabbits, ferrets, and cats.
For short haired dogs, there is something called a shedding blade used by horse people during the horses spring shed. You would want a metal one, got to any horse place and they would be able to tell you about them. You dont want to use a lot of force. a gentle raking works great and pull the dead hair out wonderfully. DONT use on the bonie part of the legs, it can cause scrapes and irratation. Sorry for the bad spelling, no spell check lol
I will also recommend a Rubber type brush for this.
I have a brush I bought years ago from Petco. It's similar to the Zoom Groom but has extra nubs on the end of the tips, and on the reverse side it has 2 other patterns which help to slick water off of the dog after a bath.
Usually these work very well on the shorter hair dogs that don't have undercoats like some double coated or long haired breeds.
