iv had my kitten for just under a year now and im looking for a new name for him. He is all black and is breedless. (im a young cat owner and i dont know all of those proper words for things yet) he has been called shadow and sweep(y). plz send me a couple of replys! i would like to get an unusual name for him. (oh yeah, hes a boy!)
i laugh alot so please ignore me. unless of course a mad cat comes charging up to me clawing at my eyes in which case i would really like some help!
Cute names are funny to you, but is the purpose for the cat to learn its name? If so, keep it simple preferably one syllable or at most two. If not, go for whatever in order to entertain your friends. I have a black called "Ralph" and a female calico called "Ruby".
how about jetson.( like george jetson) I thought it was cute, my friends were going to name thier black kitten jetson, until they brought the kitten to the doctor and found out it was a female.. now shes kasey!
Hi ,I have 4 cats. they are all very special to me. I have a black cat her name is maria. I was going to name her Shelby, after the mustang car. I thought that was a great name for her. but my daughter named her maria. I thought Shelby was dark and mysterious to me.
hmm, well wen we adopted our kittne i wanted to name her after a greek or roman or egyptian goddess but i was out voted. you could name him after a greek or roman or egyptian god but do research so u know the name will fit.
I would just find a name and stick with it. I would recommend you leave it at shadow. I have had my cat for just under a year, and she's barely getting her name figured out. Please do your cat a favor, and don't confuse him. THink about if every 4 months your name was changed. Confusing, right? Through the eyes of a cat is about 10x worse!
If the names he's getting don't fit, stop naming him arbitrarily and wait for a name to come, a name which reflects his primrary characteristics, and/or is ironic to them.
For instance, my family had a cat once, a tortoise-coat. Ugly as sin, but she was sweet, dainty, and graceful beyond compare, so we called her Precious, because outwardly it was kind of ironically, but it was a perfect fit if you knew her.
Another old pet name, a cat my mom still has. He started off named Carol, since we got him on my grandmother's birthday. Over time, though, he became "Munchkin", because I observed what a trickstery spaz he was, and I was always saying to him, "You're nuts! You crazy little Munchkin, why'd you do that?" which simply evolved to Munchie. He's been Munchie for years now.
My boyfriend and I have a cat, who loves to play, and his name is Hopalong Cat-sidy; Hoppy for short. As well as a cat named Miss Chevious. She used to steal things and get all sorts of weird places, and generally had a kind of sneaky quality before she became old Granny age. (She's about 107, in cat years these days.)
Our neighbors had an outdoor cat, who was a strikingly beautiful and regal feline in his youth. They named him La Bette (french for "the beauty"). In late years, they had to move, and we've begun taking care of him as a result. And I call him Ol'Scar, because he's a tom cat, and he's taken to fighting.
So, like I said... just wait for the cat's name to come. Be ever observant, and talk to your cat. It's almost certain you'll find that there's something you repeat to it often, on basis of it's character.
We have a cat named Boudica(Im sure that name soundes pretty silly to you) and since she is not neuterd she had three kittens. One was hit by a car and I am still kinda sad about it, The other two kittens still around. I havint thought of any names for them yet. I am totely AGAINTS neutering and declawing cats.
