I really dont know if I should post this here and was debating it over with myself but after a while I realized as long as other people are aware and pass it on its okay if I get in a little but of trouble (that is if it isnt allowed!) Now I just typed this up on my computer after I found a certian PICTURE of this little pop star that forever changed the way I think about her.
HANNAH MONTANA (Girl of Many Identities)
We all know the “sweet, little, southern-accented girl” who plays on the hit Disney show Hannah Montana right? And most of us have watched her at least once before in our lives if even for a moment right? As parents, I bet your kids, especially the girls, watch her show everyday the minute they get home from school. The kids of today look up to this girl and they see someone who came from nowhere but got somewhere and it makes them believe they can do anything. I wont lie, I have watched her show and was actually a fan until I saw a certain little picture of this “sweet, little, southern-accented girl” on the internet.
Now, this is the little girl everyone is use to seeing as Hannah Montana and as Miley Cyrus. These are typical pictures you would find if you searched the internet for her.
Parents; Is THIS the girl you want your kids watching night and day? I don’t think so. THIS is the girl who changed the USA and the WORLD as we know it. You can’t go anywhere and say the words Hannah Montana without someone saying something about her. She has a side no one has ever saw before and quit frankly, it’s scary. Before you know it she will be pregnant with Nick Jonas’s baby and dropping out of television just like Jamie and Brittney Spears. If this is the kid’s role model, what kind of “example” is she setting?
Now she can say whatever she wants in her defense to this picture but we all can clearly see, THIS IS DESTINY HOPE CYRUS or MILEY CYRUS or HANNAH MONTANA whatever she wants to call herself, in the flesh! That’s her face and there is no way someone copied her head onto that body. Parents really ask yourself, is this the girl you want your kids to grow up to be like? What if some innocent, little girl was surfing the web, looking at her pictures and this one popped up? There is already so much pressure from the media and celebrities that we as individuals HAVE to look a certain way and this just tops it and a little girl isn’t going to know the difference between right and wrong. She will say “Oh Hannah Montana does this so I can too.” But that’s wrong. She shouldn’t want to grow up to be this girl in fact no one should. She has nothing to show us but that the celebrity light changes you in many ways and you may start off as the little, innocent girl you once were but after a while she leaves and this is all that’s left.
First she went from Hannah Montana, then she said no I don’t like singing HIT songs for her anymore I want people to like ME, so she changed to Miley Cyrus singing, then LEAGALLY changed her name from Destiny to Miley. She can’t even figure out who SHE is let alone tell everyone who they are or should be!
I’m sorry but parents if you want your kids growing up to be that, fine by me, but if you agree with me you will pass this one to EVERYONE you know and let see the danger up ahead. But this isn’t just for parents, this is for kids and soon to be parents and even elders. This affects EVERYONE but it especially affects the next generations to come!

Ok I will be the first to admit I don't watch the show but I have seen pictures etc of her. But I have to ask how do you know that 3rd ( I think) picture you linked is her. Because IMO it looks similar to her but does not look exactly like her. So IMO without a citation of it being her I don't think it is.
Personally I dont follow with these idolized teenie boppers. I do not have television, or at least I dont get a single channel, no antenna and no satellite, no cable. I have mostly movies of good stuff come and gone Little House On The Prarie, Lucy Shows, Waltons etc. If I ever have kids and I know you never know until you are put in the situation but my kids will not be watching regular television because of the influences it has on kids. I get by just fine without it all, if I want news, I go to cnn.com or our local news channels website or the radio. I think these teenage stars are way to idolized and it doesnt make sense to me. Why would you want a beach towel with some stranger on the front of it or how does putting hanah montanas picture on the front of a box of crackers make them taste better. They treat them like they are some kind of god or goddess and I just dont buy into it or watch it.
I don't know. That kind of looks like her but not really. There is so much that can be done with photoshop these days that I highly doubt that that really is Hannah Montana, Miley Cirus. My 5 year old daughter watches her show all the time, and my husband and I even like to sit down and watch it. There is humor and yet reality in her show. Even after reading this post, I am still going to let my daughter watch the show.
I just Googled around a little bit, apparently they were leaked from her Myspace page? With that said, she is a human teen age girl. She is growing up in front of the world and is inevitably going to do some dumb things. This is the age of technology so it's then bound to circulate.
If this causes grow adults to judge her and ban their kids from watching her show, what are people really teaching their kids? Isn't it better to teach them that when you mess up, you keep your head up and deal with it head on as an adult with some class than to cover it up and make them feel like only awful people make poor choices and excuses for them?
I don't see them as being so horrible, but that is just me. Those pictures appear to be taken from a series of pictures involving a young girl having fun with friends, meant to be viewed by peers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkS9HJmEsfI
Who really cares what she does in her private life. I could see someone worrying if she is up in front of a bunch of kids happily singing along, then she suddenly starts stripping. Whoops ! Cover your eyes children.
But i really dont forsee anything like that happening. It always amazes me that some will have a cow if their kids happen to see a boob or a thigh, but dont bat an eye when their kids are watching movies like Hostel or Saw. Go figure.........
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
I have to agree with Pope and Bassett (I think it was them). I don't have kids, but I have been a big part of my best friends three. When I do have children, their internet time will be monitored. I've never seen Hannah Montana, but it seems like a sweet, innocent show that young girls seem to like. Any good parent will monitor their children on the computer and guide them to make good choices, so those pictures, who we don't even know if its her, should never even show up on a childs computer. I don't know how old Hannah Montana is, but, superstar or not, her parents should be monitoring her computer usage also. Even if they don't, it should have no effect on your parenting.
Now the whole Spears family, that's a different issue. I don't watch Jamie Lynn Spears show, and wasn't even aware that she was in a television show. But, just because I go to the grocery store and wait in line, I know that's she's young, pregnant and keeping her baby. NOT the role model I want my children to have. And unless you homeschool your kids, don't take them to the store, don't let them watch the news, and don't let them listen to the radio, Jamie's pregnancy is very big news that you can't help but know. However, I think, depending on the age and maturity of the child, that Spears' situation can be a great opportunity to talk to your kids about certain things.
With that said, there are some shows that I would not let my kids watch. For Christmas, my friend's 6 year old daughter told me she wanted me to get her a dress! She's tall, so needs a size 7, but is also very girly and loves pink. Girls sizes are in two sections...4-6x and 7-14. I looked everywhere, Macy's, Nordstroms, JCPenney, Old Navy, Gap, etc. Every once in a while, I was able to find just what I was looking for in the 4-6x sizes. But, as soon as you cross over to the -14 section, all I could find were little whore in training dresses. I mean, dresses I wouldn't let my 18 year old wear! Heck, I wouldn't wear some of them. Finally, my friend told me to try Sears, as that's the only place that she was able to find a Christmas dress for her. I go there, and the same thing. The only difference, is that the Sears dresses had a Cheetah Girls label on their hooker dresses, AND they even came in the smaller sizes. THAT to me is a problem. Not just the Cheetah Girls stuff, but the whole fact that past first grade, your kids are expected to dress like the tramps on the corner! Scary! Which is why I'll take all boys please! Sorry for rambling, I'm tired and tend to do that....
Even if you are on the right track, you will still get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers)
She's in her underwear, big deal. Sweetmommieof2, time to reevaluate your priorities. The girl snaps a few shots in front of a mirror in her panties, and suddenly she's knocked up, getting ready to shave her head and show her vagina to the world getting out of a low riding vehicle? Please, give me a break.
When Hannah Montana lights up a doobie, and stars in a porno then I'll be concerned. Until then, my little sister can watch Hannah Montana on my TV as often as she wants. Heck, Billy Ray is a fine piece of eye-candy.. I watch the darn show myself.
I sure hope you put your children in a cage under lock and key, because if you don't.. they're going to be exposed to a lot worse things in life than Miley Cyrus photos.
A. You shouldn't leave your kids unsupervised on the internet.
B. You should think of this from the kid's point of view; most of them don't know her real name, and they'll only search Hanna Montana. NOT ... whatever you said her name was.
C. Sexuality is not unnatural for young adults, much less should you try to repress it. In doing so, you try to deny them that which is natural and going to happen anyway. Instead, tell them sexuality is a normal part of life, and educate them about proper sexual conduct. If you feel Hannah Montana begins to come across as unsavory, gently say so. And try to be more concise. Kids and teens tune you out in about 30 seconds.
D. Don't be so overprotective. Your kids will probably know what a dirty sanchez is before you do.
I don't get it, who cares? And she did not "change the world". She's just a little teeny bopper. And no, I've never seen her show, and the only song of hers I've ever heard is the one she's done with her dad.
Maybe parents ought to explain to their kids, these girls are just kids like them. Just because she sings and goes on stage doesnt mean shes more mature and suddenly a role model.
Um.. if you are so concerned, why the h*ll would you post those pictures on a DOG BOARD where 13 year olds visit? You should post it on a picket sign and stand outside a candy store! ha ha ha ha ha ha... This is the most ironic thing I have run across in a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you like that, you will hate seeing Tom Cruise pushing pills...http://www.freakingnews.com/Celebrity-Fakes-Pictures--729.asp
"Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else."
First I would just like to thank you all for the feedback I got from posting this here. I only posted it on here to see what type of feedback I would get back from parents, non parents, kids, ect. and this was the best place I could think of to get that. I posted it on a few other websites and got some good and some bad feedback but this was the main one I wanted to see what everyone said. Thank you all again!
Just for the record, Miley Cyrus did not come out of nowhere and make it big on her own. She is Billy Ray Cyrus's daughter and she made it because of who Daddy is. (Achy brakey heart....guy with a mullet from Country music fame. And a few less noticable hits since then) I believe she started out on a tv show with him playing his tv daughter before she was picked up by Disney and became Hannah Montana. Miley is Destiny Hope's nickname. And nope, I don't have kids. Too old to watch Hannah Montana but a big Country music fan who is old enough to know who Billy Ray is.
the girl is a perv. we all know that by now. But she and Nick broke up, her friends all hate her, and the few friends she still has all are stuck up snotheads. basically, she isn't a role model. she can't sing either.
MaxandAllie I am well aware of her history and just because her Dad is famous doesn't mean she was going to be. I ment she came from nowhere as in she came from a regular old house in a regular old place just like you and me.
