This is my 6 month old puppy. His name is Mac. I was told he was a mastiff/rot mix. I just don't see it.

He is 58.5lbs as of ysterday.

Please your thoughts are very welcome! :)

I can see the Mastiff, but not the Rottie. I'd say Lab,too.He looks like a lovely dog.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the rottie either. I agree, he looks like a lab mix w/ maybe mistiff. Lovely dog!!

If you want to find out for sure what breed Mac is, there is a genetics test that can be done. Your vet would need to take a blood sample and send it to the lab, the panel is called a "Wisdom Panel". It's fairly new, but it gives you the breeds that compose your pup.

I am going have to agree with the others...he looks just like a mastiff/lab mix in my puppy class. I will have to look on my camera and see if I have a picture for you...VERY CUTE!!

Thanks for all your input, my vet told me about that test, he said it cost 150 bucks though, seems kinda steep.. but it could be worth it..

I can see Mastiff in the second picture, and the second last picture. I really think the other components might be Lab.

I'd hazard to say Lab mix. I love the 3rd picture, great look on his face.

Couldn't you check with the people you got the dog from to see what the parents were. Tell them you wanted to see your dogs family.

Well they told me his dad was a Mastiff and his mom was a German Rot.

But my vet is telling me no way.

Wow! What an adorable baby you have. I would have to agree with the lab mix. I think he has the most intelligent looking eyes. Just enjoy him and give him as much love as it looks like he gives you.

I stink at guessing breed, but he is absolutely gorgeous! And the "smile" picture is great!

i dont know if anyone will read this but your puppy is absolutly my boy who just passed away like 4 days ago you should look at his picture. his mom was a purebred rot and his dad was a lab and he looked just like yours. but if they are the same be prepared. my boy was 120 lbs. when i lost him and he wasnt over weight for his size!
