Ok, I got 2 dogs from the shelter and one had earmites, and the other a yeast infection, How do you tell the difference between the 2, when the vet swabbed the ears they both looked the same, I had my 2 year old and my 4 month old with me so it was hard for me to pay attention..
Get the ear infection taken care of with anti-biotics then buy some thronit ear powder. We use it and it takes care of all that. http://www.championpets.freeserve.co.uk/ears.htm http://www.championpetsonline.co.uk/popup.cfm?p_n=35246&p_i=35246 It will spare you more vet costs in the future. If you want to hear more about it let me know. Must go to work now.
Check out the site. Its only in the U.K. one little bottle last a long time. You use it sparingly. You just go thru the ordering and all its easy. I think it might say somewhere that they don't ship to the states, but they do. I swear by that stuff. Basically, my dog does not get any brown wax while she has this powder in her ears. She used always have it. She has not had an ear infection since using this. Its only approx. $15 u.s. as opposed to paying the vet fee, and buying antibiotics. A good $50 to $60, one time fee. You only lightly dust the ear with it. Give the ears a regular wash maybe once or twice a month with a dog ear wash. Then apply it.
