ok i have an aussie that is about 12weeks old. my moms friend just had a litter of yorkies and one of them was born handicaped he only has one eye. the lady asked me if i wanted him for free... if i dont get him i think eighther shell keep him or hell get euthinized what should i do??
Well I don't know your whole story. but if it where me YES I would get him. if you worried about him being OK with One eye. my pug has only one good eye and she is wonderful. So I hope that is not what is keeping you from him. I am unsure of your whole story ?? but go for it !! Jubilee
If you just have one dog, and it's just a puppy, I definately think you should. Dogs are pack animals and love companions. They'll probably grow up to be best friends since they're both puppies. As far as the love thing, you would be surprised how much love a person has to give. I thought this as well when my husband and I were deciding on having more kids. Love comes so naturally and I'm positive both dogs would be loved by you equally. :)
Hello pink...haven't seen you on in ages...that said...I think there is some reason your unsure and hesitating. It is ok to really want to have 1 pup and spend time with it and not want the other pup and you shouldnt feel the strain of the guilt that you have to or it will be put to sleep. Follow your heart...and dont second guess your inner voice...you will make the right decision. One that is right for you... Good luck...
I agree with Digger. Don't let the fact that the dog has one eye throw you. I have know several and you wouldn't even know. If there is another reason, that would be your decision. I would do it if I were in your spot, but it's a personal decsion. Like someone else said, if you don't want it I would take it too. I would hate for her to be pts because of one eye.
Pinkpuplover.............Do not feel pressured, or guilty. There are other options here. I think you want to save the puppy, but there has to be a reason that you are sure about what to do, and really that isn't something that you need to share here, if you do not feel comfortable doing so. I have a Yorkie, and would not hesitate to take this one, but that is me. There have been several other people here that have made the same offer. I am sure there are plenty more that we have not heard from. You have to make sure to do what is right for you. Only you know what that is. Just give yourself a little time to think about it, and I am sure you will decide what is the right thing to do, for you and the puppy.
Go for it!!!!! I wouldn't hesitate for a moment. Trust me, there will be enough love for both pups. They can also entertain each other, we all know pups need constant attention and humans have things that need to be done that do not involve the pets. As for it only having 1 eye, I would have it vet checked to make sure it requires no medical treatment or special care, other than that it should adjust well. Yorkies are simply adorable but they would never survive my labs (even with 2 eyes it wouldnt be safe.) LOL
