I am not voting for the president and i pick both dogs because they are each special in there own way. I am just so sick of this president stuff everywhere you go tv,radio, newspaper and now on the pet forum. I will say the reason I dont get involved is because I have harsh feelings for Bush I feel he only wanted to finish what his dad started. The 9-11 attacks were done by Bin-ladden not Saddam and they are not even from the same country so he went and started killing people in Iraq and getting American soldiers killed over there WHY?
I agree with luvmypits. Bush jun. wants only to finish the job what his father has started. Of course 9-11 was terrible and shouldn't have happened, but Bush jun. should have waited until the UN agreed for the invasion, than the other countries would have stood behind Bush jun. I must admit I don't know a whole lot from Kerry, but it can't get any worse. I do like both breeds, but I used to have a scottish terrier.
I was at the White House Fall Garden Tour this weekend and saw Barney the Scottie in person (well, in dog). He was so adorable in the West Garden playing with a Soccer ball. The agent with him held him up so some kids could get their pic with him. Very, very sweet.
Oh, and off topic - I would like to say that it does not matter who you vote for, we all make our own decisions in that - what matters is that we do vote. As a woman, I can't even believe that we have been able to vote for less than 100 years. So that is why as women it is our duty to make our choices known. Until there is a woman in the WH, our vote is our power!
Well, I raise mini schnauzers so I am a fan of Terriers. I am a Texan, I wonder who I would choose? LOL. I can't bring myself (as a christian woman) to vote for someone who supports abortion and stem cell. I don't agree with people taking God out of our Pledge, this country was formed by God for Religious freedom, we aren't saying you have to be Christian, but if you are a minority (athiest) in country who was based on God, I say keep your mouth shut, or move somewhere else! It's not like we make you go to church! Personally I think Bush has done a good job, I am glad they got Sadaam, even if he didn't have anything to do with 9-11, its best he is captured, he is an evil man, and he needs to be captured where he can't do any harm. I personally would rather be fighting the terrorists over there, then bringing them here! You know the news is mostly Liberal, and they show you what they want you to see, My husband was in the navy, still in the reserves, everyone we talk to that has been to Iraq says that the people loved them and welcomed them. I hope this makes since...it did in my head anyway
I think that normally I would choose a german shepard over a terrier but in this case I definitely say Go Terriers!!!!! Go W!!!!! I love him. He's coming to my town on Thursday. I have to go get tickets tomorrow. He sent my baby a birth announcement. I hope I can get him to give her a kiss. A republican from birth. I also can't support or vote for someone who supports abortion and stem cell research along with many other things. Also, Kerry looks like a chicken. Thats not why I'm not voting for him, I just thought I'd point out to everyone that he looks like a chicken.
It's a difficult choice, between the dogs. One minor point that may or may ot be of interest to some... Stem cell research IS in full swing. It is NOT the stem cell research that has been banned, it is the use of cloned and/or aborted fetuses for that purpose. As a mother of a grown son with SERIOUS type I Diabetes, a cousin and 3 friends who suffer from MS, I have followed this pretty thoroughly. There are other methods of harvesting stem cells (such as umbilical cords and other, non-lethal, non-clone producing methods) to continue the research. Rather then state my choice of whom I prefer NOT to vote for, I'd simply like to clear the matter when it comes to the cloudy issue of stem cell research. University of Miami has had an on-going project for at LEAST 3 years now Politics, like religion is always bound to bring out polar opposites, which is why it's seldom discussed in friendly, open forums. Once again, as a mother who had 2 of her 3 children serve in the US military, a natural born citizen, compassionate human and educated adult, I also have my own opinions on the issue of conflicts, terroist attacks and the price of the freedoms we enjoy. I agree, the important thing is to vote. For whomever you choose, the candidate, his wife or his pup~ Sorry, but I felt compelled to add my 2 cents worth in there.
I totally understand. The cloning with the stem cell is what I am concerned about. The umbilical cord thing I think is great. I do believe the end is near, and I think any Christian would believe that the time is nearing when our Savior will come again! IMHO, I really think this "war" boils down to Christ vs. the Anti-Christ (Satan). Similar to the war in Heaven, Chap. 12 of Revelations. These are the 2 men (with their dogs) who have been chosen to run for President in this promised land, I say promised because we are a free land able to choose! Most other countries don't have the same problems that we do with Terrorists literally hating our guts and wanting to destroy us, much like everyone wanted to destroy Christ. In other words, (as in an analogy) The U.S. is Christ, and the terrorists are Satan! Satan wants to destroy Christ. Therefore Terriorism! I think Bush is standing up for what he believes and I think he and his doggie, have Values and Morals! Whether you belive in God or not, you must still believe in Good vs. Evil!
I forgot to add, I think a lot of this could have been prevented when the Cole was hit. If our Commander in Chief at the time would have done something about it instead of getting sexual favors from some intern! (yeah that ticked me off, that made our country look like a laughing stock!) I guess him sitting on his butt when that happened was the right thing to do! Then we have 9-11! And Bush actually wants to defend us, and people get mad when he does! But no one cares about the Cole getting hit and 13 U.S. soldiers die! At the time my husband was on the USS George Washington which is the carrier in the Coles battle group.
Well, I had "smart class" (an all day, really fun class) today, and we re-enacted a senate hearing to pass a law to either allow or ban cloning research and cloning. And that means all kinds of cloning: repoductive cloning, theraputic cloning, and stem cell research. Or course, the law was passed to ban it. We had a "citizen" (a dude in our class who is very annoying, and always contradicts his own points) on the stand for questioning, and there were 5 senators, a chairperson, and a vice chairperson who could question him (I was a senator, now I bless myself for getting that postion, lol). Everyone else (who had other parts) had to tell the chairperson to ask the question to him. We all argued with him for 2 1/2 HOURS!!! We covered cloning, gene therapy, abortion, and in-vitro fertilization. I am against abortion, except for rape, which is not consenual (sp, I can never spell that right, lol). ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
That is definatly not true! Terriers are loyal!!!!! :-) And German Sheperds, well lets just say that they can be agressive and not well-mannered. That suits the predidential canidates just perfectly!!! :-)
" Most other countries don't have the same problems that we do with Terrorists literally hating our guts and wanting to destroy us, much like everyone wanted to destroy Christ. " Don't say that. There are a lot of countries that have been victims of terrorist attacks for A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. examples? - Russia (school hostages), Isreal (problems w/ Palestine), India(terrorist killings in Kashmir), Spain (recent bombings) and numerous countries in Africa. Only after 9/11, did dubya start taking action against terrorists. Before that, I doubt if his pea-sized brain actually knew if there was a country known as Afghanistan and that there were Al-Queda recruits training there to be sent to bomb and terrorise all those countries I mentioned.
I'm going to avoid getting into the President and dog debate, but just as a side, "under God" was not in the Pledge of Allegiance until 1954. It was added to distinguish America from the "Godless Communists" (Even though most west Russians were Eastern Orthodox at the time). It seems to have been more war propaganda than anything else. Also "...one nation under God, indivisible..." is grammatically incorrect.
Alphonse, I would reckon he did know about Al Qaeda as many of their operatives were trained in Fort Benning, Georgia at the Army School of the Americas (Well funded by George Bush I's CIA) Also interesting to note that most suspects in the bombings were neither Iraqi nor Afghan but Saudi.
