What is up with everyone, yeah their is ghetto in arkansas and various other parts of the USA. So what how can you judge which is worse AR or Jamaica. Have you ever lived in Jamaica or had that experience. Either way this person is completly wrong for wanting an aggressive dog that is going to kill someone, but why act like Jamaica is some heaven. That just makes me sick there is serious slums and ghetto in Jamaica, people just seem to be so ignorant. The same thing when it comes to Puerto Rico, oh its so beautiful there and perfect. NOT, there it ghetto everywhere and extreme poverty. Those nice places you see on TV are for the tourist.

Well no I don't really see any sarcasm in the post. I take it very differently than that. I've been to AR, been to OK good and bad parts, been to TX good and bad parts, the house I was staying at was only 2 blocks from where an 11 year old was shot and killed in a gang war. I lived in the ghetto in NYC, been to the ghettos in MX, but still you get jumped for BUS MONEY, the people on the islands usually don't have money. And those that do are like the above idiot, they are also really uneducated they don't have common sense lots of times, these types have some money, and live in a bad place and think they need a dog for some stupid protection. Even if they get an aggressive dog it will more than likely high tail it with its tail tucked if ever faced with anything serious. I hear the same crap from people in the city here, I need a tough dog because I live in a bad place. Yet someone I know got a large amount of money stolen from his ghetto apartment with his Pit Bull inside and lucky they didn't take the dog he thought would guard the home. Doesn't make too much sense but its what they believe. Acting like the place isn't bad won't help this person at all. Just keep trying to talk sense into them, it sometimes eventually works.

nope I think this ones beyond our reach.. there isnt no talking sense into this one!!!! I had two pits once and lived in a apt. and they stole one of my pits and the other layed on the couch while they took the rest of my apt stuff!!..lol so much for guard dogs.

Well at least we can try. I have someone I've never given up on yet. Sometimes what I say seems to be getting through. But then there are still other influences that get back into this persons head and they get really crazy ideas about the dogs. But I'm still trying. I don't understand why you would want your pet to be agressive. I have a client, who "had" pit bulls. The last one was only about 2 years old, had been a great pet with them and their child until it started to show agression, bumping the child to knock it down on a regular basis. This was not in play, it was to be dominant. They tried to find another person with no children or other pets (didn't like other pets) to no avail. They came to the office Saturday and put her down. Being very upset, but knew that they could not have this kind of behavior around a child or for that matter any other children. Please don't make your pet agressive, it will only hurt you and your pet in the end.

The problem with Ol Roy food is its crap. Feeding that to a dog isn't taking care of it. Malnutrition is neglect. If you can't afford to take care of a dog don't get one. I noticed dogs on Ol Roy tend to be cancer prone, which is strange. Maybe it is just coincidence but I think not. All it consist of is fillers, grains and preservatives. If you could see the dog I have seen that is skinny and bones then maybe your view would be different. The dog was already loosing weight the first time, then the dog food was switched for about a month and he was healthy with his weight back on. Then back to the Ol Roy food and now looks worse than ever. So sick and even weak, can't even look or I'll throw up. Don't get a dog if you can't take care of it properly. When a dog is malnurished they are unhealthy and can become sick easier and have a lower immunity. The same thing can be said about people and of course other animals not receiving a healthy diet. Kids that don't eat good meals tend to be sick often or practically all the time. Which is maybe why many dogs fed on Ol Roy may have cancer. Cancer cells are in the body but are controlled in normal healthy individuals, when the system is compromised and the body not at its fullest the freak cells rum rampid and keep producing at a rapid rate. Purina Dog Chow is about crap too. It has worked for some people and I don't know all of the possible negatives with this food. But this goes right through a dog which tells you they are not getting the proper nutrition from it and that the food is mostly waste. Instead of the dog eliminating once a day they go at least 4 times. I don't see how that can be natural or healthy at all. The stool is also loose and gritty (I blame that on the grains?) and yellowish. Then there is the fact that the ground is covered in feces which isn't healthy either. Kennels should be kept clean, but who wants to clean kennels 3 times a day? And most people that feed the dogs subquality food are not going to bother with keeping the kennels clean, especially if its going to be that much work. Dollar General has its own feed brand too. You get a huge bag for like $10. I seen a healthy fed dog that was then switched to this because of the obvious price. And he lost so much weight and looked ill but was not. The owner fully regreted it and said never again. I myself even had to switch to a dog food with a higher fat content because I couple who like to work themselves and are always active. Feeding these dogs more of some cheap brand wouldn't even provide the nutrition still because they would just crap it out so fast. And anytime a food like this does make them maintain weight it is unhealthy and the wrong kind of fat. They get fat build up and even a gut. In the end you pay more for or at least the same for the cheaper dog foods. If you think you have to feed more then you use the food faster. And the fact that it doesn't give the dog as much nutrition=vet bills.

hey people, i don't care if this is 13 and up. stop acting like babies and lets stop all the cursing. show respect for others and express it in other words, thanks. ol roy dog food. i feed my dogs pedagree dog food, but have seen dogs on ol roy dog food all their lives and never had a problem with it and were healthly as an ox, up to the day they died.just because somebody feeds thier pets cheap dogfood doesn't mean they don't take care of thier pets.

Leanda well I guess thats just a difference of opinion between us. I wouldn't sell/give a dog to some one who can't afford to care for it. And feed it a decent dog food. These dogs can be very beautiful, healthy, shiny coat and have natural muslce and what you feed really shows through to the dog. If they can't afford at least a decent quality feed then I don't see them doing very much else with the dog. Actually the food this person with the skinny pit switched to was pedigree, then the dog gained weight back and started to look a lot better. So I guess after that it was back to the cheap Ol' Roy food and the dog has deteriorated so much its sicking. Guess because it looks so sick, like an extremely wormy dog or one with a illness. I don't see how people can sacrifice their dogs health for a few bucks. The pedigree food is about $17 compared to the Ol' Roy $12. Taking the dog to the vet is going to cost $, and it has already been once before the food brand was switched and nothing was wrong with it. Now the same thing will happen and it is expensive to take it to the vet, and it could possibly be sick now from the looks of it and the fact that it is more suceptable to illness now. SOME dogs do fine on it. SOME dogs do just great on Dog Chow, while mine do not. It should be obvious the dog needs a better feed, and spending 100-200 at the vet is just a waste of money instead of just feeding right. They need a lot of nutrition and a good dog food is where to start.

to truepits: i understand your thoughts. but just to let you know all my dogs i adopt out or sell i do home checks and vet checks on possible buyers. and i check up on almost all my dogs that have gone to new homes.and if for some reason i think the dog is not being well taken care of i will get the dog back.if you are going to breed or resue any dog, mutt or purebreed, you should do the same. brucegirl, i hope that everyone will stop giving you crap. i do understand your problem and some of us took it to far.i just hope you don't make your dog outright vicious. especialy if there are kids around.sometimes a kid doesn't relize that a dog is actin mean.there are correct ways of doing this and i hope everything will work out for you.remember a pit is supposed to be people friendly , but will protect you if needs be, that is how a true pit is. good luck and i hope your dog doen't get you into trouble?!

Thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt Leanda, I never said I would do anything to my dog or have even attempted to in order for him to become cross, I just feel like I baby him too much and was wondering if that could be the problem. I would never do anything to harm my dog both physically, mentally or emotionally. But i would continue to despise that idiot Codysmom because without even thinking about me living in another part of the world to her she judged me as a bad owner for my dog and made all sorts of snide comments about myself and where I live.
