i've got a remedy for you then, well i've got a pittbull too and she's so friendly and loyal i like that she's as you would put it "a sissy pittbull", the only advice that i can give you though to make her more aggressive is to treat her really mean and stop loving her "to pieces", but then that would make you a bad dog owner.

True Pits,I have to agree with Leanda on the dog food subject. Maybe Ol Roy ,or Purina ,Alpo or what ever else is not the best food. It doesn't mean the owners of the dogs don't love them ,or try to do the best for their dogs.Some people can't afford the premium foods. No one should judge an owner and say the owner doesn't care about the dog because they don't buy premium foods.Some people have more money to spend then others.

All I have to say is if you love your dogs you wouldn't starve them. That is not love but neglect. The person should take the time to realize they can't afford them. There is a time when "love" becomes harmful. Like when someone is too old to care for their dog and its neglected, or when they work all the time and the dog gets no human contact, or when they can't afford vet bills and parasite control or to feed their dog properly. And I never said premium dog food. Some people consider Science Diet a good dog food, probably up their with premium, but I would never feed it to my Boxer because she throws it up. Feeding that to her wouldn't be giving her proper and would also be damaging to her esophagus. This is just my opinion, its the way I feel. I don't understand how some one can say they love their dog but let them starve and get sick.

Those are pics of what the dog on Ol Roy looks like. The dog started loosing weight slowly at first. Couldn't really maintain it. He had been wormed so that wasn't the problem. I suggested it could be the dog food. Maybe that was it but the owner wanted to see the vet. Which cost about $100 just to say they couldn't find anything really wrong. So then the dog food was switched to pedigree and the dog began to gain weight back and get some tone also. So I guess since it was looking alright the owner thought to switch back to Ol' Roy. After this the same thing happened, but it has been allowed to deteriorate to a worse state. Just a sack of bones and the owner says "I don't know what wrong" Hmmmm...probably the same thing as last time. They want to take him to the vet again will be more expensive this time. The dog is also weak so could get a bad case of anything like coccidia. And it will be very hard for a dog like that to get over, the dogs immune system is what ultimatly allows it to over come a disease like that. If it has a compremised immune system and isn't getting nutrition it will be almost impossible. I also want to clear something else up. I didn't mean people who choose to feed Ol Roy don't love their dogs. Its a popular dog food, or at least I see many people buying at Wal Mart most the time. I can't say these people don't love their dogs. The avarage dog owner doesn't even know their is a real difference in dog food. But if you can see adverse effects then it is wrong not to do something about it. Especially when it has been proven that it is the dog food causing the dog to be sick. Pit Bulls need a lot of nutrition, thats why I had to switch to a dog food with 20% fat content. So one of my dogs could maintain weight much better rather than running it off. This dog(the skinny one) could look so good with no conditioning if fed right. Would have a really nice natural muscle tone. Instead of being a sick sack of bones. I don't buy the "some people can't afford other foods" line. Most people who buy it could afford something else, they just don't know the difference or don't see it important. This owner could afford to keep buying the pedigree, and their is another good feed that is only $14 what is $2 more a bag? Which would someone they that loves their dog rather sacrifice $2 or their dogs health? A 40lbs for $14 is 35 cencts a pound, only 5 cents more than a $12 bad. And a $16 bag is only 10 cents more a pound. In most cases more feed has to be given when using a dog food that has less of everything. Which only makes sense so it evens out. Or sometimes you save. The food I switched to is just a couple bucks more but its worth my dogs health and the ones that I have to feed less of it I actually save in the end. If you look at sercings you save more. I did a hypothetical calculation and on Type A $12 bad it would cost $24 a month, Type B $14 it cost $21 a month and Type C $16 it cost $24 a month. Once everthing is broken down into cost.

i know this is probably off the subject, but i think true pits is right; sometimes owners do not know the big difference between commercial dog foods and premium dog food. i did not know either, but thanks to the discussion forum I now know. i also did a little research on dog nutrition as well. i could have afforded to give my nine year old lab mix a premium dog food, but was not aware. i am feeding a good premium dog food now. i got a puppy recently and am now buying diamond. my nine year old dog looks good and recently had a physical and she is doing great, but i want to have many more years with her. educating yourself on dog nutrition is the best thing you can do for your dogs. the findings on why premium dog food is better, really makes sense!!

Perhaps Brucegirl you need to visit a hospital ward or better yet.... a morgue.... to see the results of reckless and irresponsible pit bull/bully dog ownership. Perhaps you need to visit the family of a child who has been torn to pieces by a pitbull who has been mishandled. If you have a pitbull who is loving... count yourself blessed and keep him that way. If the need should arise, he will protect you out of his love for you.... not out of his fear of you. To want to make a dog more aggressive for ANY reason is just plain wrong. An adult would have a hard time fighting off a fullgrown pitbull, a child would not have any chance at all and NOTHING is going to stop an aggressive pitbull who wants out of his enclosure.

Try a retired Belgian Malinios from Police ot military work. It is crazy to make a dog aggressive. A retired Belgian Malinios from the police force or military, knows when to be aggressive. Go with a retired Belgian Malinios, or Australian Cattle Dog. The Australian Cattle Dog has protection instincts and a retired Belgian Malinios will protect you without being aggressive. Your reasoning is trash. An aggressive dog is not the answer. Any dog can protect their family. Getting a retired Belgian Shepherd from the military wold be a good way to go. I really think you should not own a dog at all, and try mace. The sight of a Belgian Tervuren would scare anyone away. Jamaica is the same as here. You just see your dog as a possesion.
