I raise mini dachshunds, but I don't advertise on terrific pets. I don't really advertise at all. I don't actively go looking for homes for my puppies. Normally people who may be interested contact me.
I am. I have a beautiful female Newfoundland pup that will make any family a perfect pet. She is 6 mos. old and she is just darling. Her name is Ashleigh and I am advertising her here. She is very smart and gets along great with kids and other pets. She also has all her shots, health certified and vet checked.

I do not advertise actual puppies at any sites but I do have my kennel advertisement at I think 3 places, but not here. Luckily my pups are usually sold before they are born or sold within a week of being born.
I have an ad in the "Dog Breeders" section of Terrific Pets with a link to my web site. I probably get a couple of inquiries per week from the ad and I've sold several dogs/puppies through this ad....all to local families. They've been able to visit our kennel and I've been able to inspect their homes before placing my dogs.
Many responsible breeders are hesitant to advertise on the internet. I find that it's very easy to find questionable sources for puppies online......I hope that it's educational for puppy buyers to find web sites for responsible breeders, too.

I have an ad on Terrific pets. I actually only advertise online (I've found our local classifieds only drew people who wanted to know why I ask so much for my puppies - and if I would GIVE them one as they didn't have much money. My price is on the low side for a quality Sheltie and I NEVER give a pup away...). I have 4 different ads out. I only breed when I have an extensive waiting list for my puppies so that I can screen the families BEFORE I breed the litter. I like having people stay in touch for a couple of months before they actually choose a puppy. It gives them time to learn more about the breed, come and visit a couple of times if they can, ask all the important questions. I'm also not an "impulse buyer" fan, and I had a couple of bad experiences with people who impulse bought puppies when I first started breeding and won't go there again. I don't really breed to make money, so I don't NEED to have a litter. I also don't NEED to sell anyone a puppy - which largely stems from having the lengthy waiting list. It also allows me to pick and choose which homes work best for my pups. I just sent a little girl home yesterday (her family picked her up) and she was the most playful, kissy, outgoing puppy I've seen in a long time - perfect for two young girls - and she fell in love with them instantly. I knew when she was a few weeks old she NEEDED kids :).
And if I get a bad feeling about someone I have time to tell them I don't feel I'm the right breeder for them. Sometimes it takes a while to weed out the people feeding you BS... :)
I don't usually post ads for actual puppies, back when i started out i had to to get the word out there but now i keep a waiting list starting when i breed the litter so all my pups are sold at birth. I like to put up a few ads about the planned litter just to get people to visit my website. Generally though just being listed as a breeder (not a puppy ad) on websites such as this is enough to fill the waiting list.
Some people do. And they will gladly throw that in your face when something is said out of their liking and they feel that you should be put back in your lowly "member" place. So, I advise to watch your back. The people who "fund" tp can be tempermental about the way things are worded. *zips her lips and tosses the key*
Yes, I have posted an ad in the breeders section on TP and now we have a website and a waiting list for our pups. I also placed an ad on a free classified website, but didn't get much of a response. Oh well, at least people are looking! I know there are some other sites that are just ads for specific breeds. I've never had a problem with shipping or people coming to get thier pup, so it's been a good experience.

I advertise on here, but only when I have puppies. I think my listing expired in December last year. It was decent as far as number of people that went to my site from this site. I will concider using it again, or maybe doing a breeder listing. We will see. I ship and have never had a problem with shipping. Though it is nicer when the new owners can afford to fly their own plane in to a near airport, or fly commercial and pick up their puppy in person, but that is not always an option.
