Today me & my grandma took a walk to the stores, and they all allow Max in if I'm carrying him. Last minute, she decided she wanted to go foodshopping, and she had her cart with her, so we did. It's often hard for my grandma to go foodshopping, because it's a long walk for her, and my mom is working constantly. So, I just put Max in the cart, he was so well behaved and people kept telling me how good & beautiful he was!
Wow I'm really surprised they let you in the stores woth Max, especially the food store. I had Stanley in a little book store some one was renting and they said he wasn't allowed in here like he was a huge German Shepherd. It was funny though cause Stanley growld at the woman.
How would that raise attention? Please, I'm not that immature to bring a dog out for attention.. what kinda excuse is that eh?
My grandma insisted on going food shopping. Keep your nasty remarks to yourself stdogz. Are you the one who had a beagle bite your son in the face on more than one occasion.. oh real responsible, I must say!

No, my beagle did not bite my son in the face - but thanks for checking your facts before you posted.
I say it's for attention because there is no reason WHY you would need to bring your dog into the supermarket. And do you find it convenient that you had your camera there to take pix, too? Hmmm I think so!
I stand behind my opinion. If you don't like it - that's not my issue.
We were down near the supermarket, and my grandma insisted on going there because she needed some things. As a 14 year old, I have my camera everywhere with me. It permanently stays in my handbag, and I just took a few pictures. I'm a picture freak, if that's ok!
I take Lacy a lot of places with me, and I wouldn't have a problem with a clean little dog being in a supermarket, but I know that there are health laws and that dogs are not allowed in supermarkets and restaurants. I would never try to take Lacy in a food place because I know she's not allowed.
Cute pictures Sienna. I don't see a problem with him being in the store. He wasn't walking on the floor people come on. He was in a cart or she was carrying him. Animals and grocery stores don't mix, but they allowed her to have him there as long as he was in a cart or being held. Most dogs are cleaner then some people who go into grocery stores. I see people sometimes walk in with no shoes and dirty feet. No reason to jump on Sienna because they allowed her dog to go into a store, she didn't do anything wrong. I don't see what is wrong with her taking pictures either. Most people have cameras these days on them, digital cameras are smaller that most women's wallets :)
i dont see why little dogs can go in but not big dogs.my kane is the most well behaved dog you will ever meet.he would just walk around but he wouldnt fit in the buggie.yea i dont think i would have brung him in thought if i seen a dog in the store i was shopping at i would probably leave.as much as i love animals you dont what the dog has and been near.
Excluding service animals, I don't think pets should be allowed in a grocery store. Some people are allergic, scared of animals, and it is unsanitary. How would you like finding dog fur on your bagel? People have no idea whether the animal is vaccinated or not. Lastly, animals aren't 100% controllable, they may have an accident or cause an accident. There was an incident a few years back when a lady brought her pomeranian into Safeway. My sister's friend asked if she was friendly and the owner told her that she wouldn't bite. However, when my sister's friend touch the dog, the dog ended up biting her. Luckily, the pomeranian was vaccinated. It would be more sanitary and a precaution for the stores to not allow any animals. Besides, it would be scaring some customers away.

Regardless if Max is "a good boy" and stay in the cart, and that you didn't go down any "open food" sections....facts remain:
You shouldn't be allowded to do it because: -Liability if the dog bites someone (you would think the store person would of considered this) -Other customers with open food and allergies -If you do it, others should be allowed, and there dogs might not be so well behaved.
Overall, it's just an irresponsible decision to bring an animal into a food, clothing, etc store. If it isn't one that openly accepts dogs.
