Bassett...I love the faces..I am such a sucker for pups..i love them...we will have a litter of shepherds in early auguest...so i will have pups to love again...I have a bithc going to be bred next week too...so..im a glutton for punishment..I think that the pups that you had either intentional or unintential is none of any one business...i am happy that you were able to share the joys with us..but really feel horrable that you had to hold it al in for so long..So what that you had a litter...will it make much difference in the sceme of things..i think not. I think that small desirable dogs will be easy to place...and you had better charge for them...we all know no one values free...and it isnt a bad thing to charge..if some one will pay for a pup they will take care of it more then likely...I hate to see the perverbal black dogs bred on purpose or more pit mixes that never seem to get adopted fast enough...im not against these dogs mind you...just there is more of them then we can shake a stick at..and no one wants them like they like cute little fur balls...So .they will get wonderful homes.and that is that..what basset does with her home, dogs or money is her business...peroid. I personally do not agree with really early spay neuter...i say the spade nuter contract is probably as good as it will get...offer to refund some money when they show proff they fixed the pup..i did that with a himmy i rescued that was pregnant when i got her and the vet suggested to spay her but she was so skrauney i didnt think she would live throught the annestetic...so..i sold them for 75 dollars and 25 back when fixed...i think it was something like that any way..and had no problem selling and placing them. So Basset..you do what you feel is best..i know they will go like hot cakes..so im not worried...dont take no gruff from people who have only harse opinions to hurl at you...we all know you as a good person and a real pet lover..who cares if one or two dont know you well enought to understand...
Thanks huron and sandb and everyone else. You know I was a little dis-heartened today, when I posted about the puppies and arrived back home only to find all of the negative, almost hateful comments, from one person.
Well, if they think they are going to ruin my day completely or scare me away from Terrific Pets website, they'd best think again. It will take a lot more than one smart mouthed punk to make me leave.
No, I won't give the puppies away. I wouldn't want them to get into the wrong hands. They won't be going to any pet collectors, nor breeders, either. I'll be super chosey as to who gets to take these puppies home, afterall, they are the litter that wasn't supposed to be.
I'd like to keep Mc Carthy for awhile longer than the others and plan to show her in the Fun Pet Show at the State Fair this summer. I've got a neat story as to why I named her Mc Carthy, but will save that for another day.
Better toddle off to bed, I had to work late tonite and am exhausted.
VERY CUTE pics Bassett! I think they are just the sweetest!
hehe I too have a little accidental baby. I was 16 when i had her but she has been worth every second of the hard work! You guys are right when you say not everything that is an accident is a bad thing!
Basset, quick hide them before Emma sees them, she'll try to take urs too...lol. They are so cute, just when I was saying no way will I have another dog, because I'm the only thats takes care of them here and u post this. They are so cute, lol I want one for a playmate for Bear. My roommate would kill me, but it would be so worth it to hav one. Congrats on the babies, they are adorable.
Sure am going through lots of newspapers, good thing I had a bunch saved in the recycling box.
The puppies are beginning to get the little Spanial freckles on their legs, ticking. Sooooo cute.
Ok, I'm off to play with the babies. They are going over to visit Grandma and their 2 big aunties today. The Chihuahua is a bit intimidated by the puppies, but Kesha, my sons Pit Bull mix loves them. She's spayed, so she can't have puppies of her own, but she is sure loving being the doting aunt to these babies.
Oops, guess I am too slow this morning. Flower just came out of the kitchen looking for us. She's ready to start her day.
