I can not believe on insensitive people can be. Bullzeye, I am sorry for your loss. I disagree with that insensitive person who appears to know what the probelm was! You should not assume what you would have done. Personally, I would not get an autopsy on an anilaml that died. We know our animals, we know how they act etc. The point here being that Diamond poisened many dog's and they should be held responsible! For you to be so cold to someone that has lost a beloved pet .... shame on you!!!!
Most of these comments are not from experience.I've lost 19 of 21 Labs in 15 days. They do get sick at different times if your feeding Diamond, from the Gaston plant, get CBC basic blood test on all of them. The toxin is Aflatoxin and it DESTROYS the liver. "MOST" Vets will not know how to treat this. Go to Cornell Univ. web site, find Mendon Village link and this is THE TREATMENT. Start #6 immediately if you have fed Diamond form the Gaston, SC plant. The N-acetylcstirene or called muco-mist is the one thing that can attach to toxin and keep it from destroying liver. If you Vet says NO find another Vet with an open mind. This toxin can stay in dod's system for 60 days and continue damge unless treated. 24 hr emergency clinics and 24 hr phamacies have some limited supplies. I just paid a $3000. bill yesterday. treating is expensive. If you have fed the aflatoxin laced Diamond, take control of the situation, save the healthy ones first, few of the sick ones survive. I am very sorry. My first to stop eating was my oldest.
