I do have to agree with flip, when I got Wiley he would bark at everything and everyone. I then got one of those spray collars and it worked really well until he figured it out. LOL He would turn his head so the spray would miss is mouth.
I have had Wiley around two years now and all I have to do now is say quite and point my finger at him and he stops. I think it is the tone, that I mean buisness. I have never hit him, correct him with a choke chain or any of that crap. He just learned to obay and then he gets praised.

Havent been on lately. This just gets bigger and longer! LOL I cant get on here as often as I would like... I'm On Bed-Rest (Not that anyone cares, but I am Proudly-Preggo with baby #2, and First and ONLY Daughter in 3 generations on my husbands side!!! LOL)
I apologize if I came across as rude before... I wasn't trying to be... I just know that (at least from my experience) my babies are much happier now... :) As are we...
And for those skeptics who still think that de-barking involves ripping throats out, or cuts to the throat, stitches, etc, and some kind of magical, long-term recoup with pain-killers, and that there should be stitches and meds, and a BUNCH of other horrible things involved, I have created a small photo-Album of Little Man's "ordeal"...
I'm not sure if the link is going to work, but I will give it my best shot. :)
NO Vet should Cut the throat of ANY dog to do this procedure... If they do, they need to have that done to THEM..!!! I would NEVER take my dog to a Vet that Cut their throats to do this. MY Vet, flat out REFUSES to do it that way, and does NOT Support those Vets who DO..!!!
This procedure is MUCH less painful than a Spay/Neuter. Or Cropping/Docking. Although personally, I have a fondness for Big, Floppy ears and long-tails, so I could never crop a dog of any kind, I am NOT putting that down, so PLEASE no one jump on me...!!! ... And the Dew-Claws... Well, I DID have a dog I dog-sat once that ripped one off during play, and that was NOT pretty, and VERY painful for the dog, so that I support 100%..!!!
In the Album.... All the pictures (except the first one, and the last 2) were taken within the First 3 hours after Little Man came home. Mind you, he had the procedure between 2:00 and 2:30pm, and came home at 5pm, it was done thru the mouth, when he was sedated, and there was NO cutting of ANY kind. :) Oh, AND he was eating Regular, DRY Dog-food, within 2 hours of coming home. Now, he RUNS around like a looney Toon and Can make all the noise he wants, and we don't have to SHUSH him... :) WE can still hear him, but the neighbors can't, and he doesn't seem to mind (or even notice! LOL). He is MUCH happier now...
As you can see from the picks, there is NO cuts, and NO stitches of any-kind ANYWHERE On his throat... :) (I took CLOSE-Ups! LOL
If you're wondering WHY we did this... Yes, we DID try to train Little Man... He DID bark thru the Bark collar... He was SO SEVERLY abused and beaten before we got him (he is 3 Years old), that he is TERRIFIED of ANY kind of discipline, Anything from raising your voice to him, to sharp, quick movements make him pee... I felt So terribly BAD telling him to SHUSH when him and Laydee would run around and play and he'd howl and bark and spaz out. Now, he can play all he wants, and NO one tells him to shush... (Last night they were going CRAZY at 11:00-12:00 midnight! :) Aaaah.... The Freedom..!!!
Anyhow, here's the link... :) I HOPE it works... :)
